Our flagship touch panel PC solution suited for digital signage, HMI, and SCADA applications with an outstanding 10+ year lifecycle guarantee. Powered by the TS-4900 System-on-Module with it's solo or quad core NXP i.MX6 using the Arm® Cortex®-A9 core, the TS-TPC-8390-4900 is capable of hardware accelerated 3D graphics for attention-grabbing signage. It's just as much at home in a control and data acquisition environment with industry standard connectors and interfaces such as RS-232, RS-485, CAN, SPI, I2C, and GPIO brought out on the TS-8390 baseboard via TS-SOCKET connector. A 7" TFT WVGA resistive touch panel display with high brightness (800 nit) completes the solution. The TS-TPC-8390-4900 also has flexible data storage methods on the eMMC flash, providing SLC for high reliability or MLC for high capacity. A microSD card can also be used to boot from and/or store additional data, like a video playlist or data logging.
embeddedTS has partnered with a third-party vendor to provide anti-microbial, shock-absorbing, and super scratch-resistant film overlays. These films also protect screens from scratches, dirt, and abrasion. If interested, inquire with sales for more information and learn how to obtain a sample.
The TS-TPC-8390-4900 runs Linux, Windows Embedded Compact, Android, or QNX. Yocto with Linux Kernel v3.10 is installed by default and is configured to take full advantage of the hardware accelerated graphics and all other features of the TS-4900, like WiFi, Bluetooth, and Gigabit Ethernet. GUI development is made easy using Qt, GTK, DirectFB, and more. Familiar GNU development tools, like gcc and gdb, are also installed, making on-board development easy. Cross compile toolchains are also made available so you can develop using your favorite desktop IDE. Finally, as with most Linux distributions, other services like Apache Web Server, CGI-BIN, FTP, SSH, Telnet, Samba network services, etc. are available. An example CGI-BIN application has also been preloaded. Also included are utilities and applications to control DIO, SPI, and more so that you can get your product to market in record time.

The TS-4900 is shipped with Yocto by default. The Yocto environment is a powerful, stable, and familiar software stack, including common Linux tools and interpreters. With Yocto, we provide an x86/x86_64 cross toolchain which supports common onboard libraries and integrates with QT Creator, and other IDEs. Yocto is also available to take full advantage of the i.MX6 GPU providing simple integration with QT Creator and IDEs for rapid development.
Windows Embedded Compact 2013 provides the flexibility and real-time support to help device manufacturers reduce time to market while creating easy-to-use, multi-touch intelligent systems that help enterprises improve worker productivity. You can purchase the TS-4900 with Windows Compact Embedded 2013 preloaded on the order tab (TS-4900-S-WIN-I or TS-4900-Q-WIN-I).
