The TS-8820-4800 a complete industrial controller solution featuring opto-isolated I/O, relays, ADC/DAC, PWM, and more brought out on rugged screw terminal connectors. Data and file system integrity on the onboard flash is ensured by our RAID-like, XNAND technology. The system is further protected by an extruded aluminum enclosure, making it a reliable and powerful solution for industrial process control systems.
Powering the solution is a TS-4800 System-on-Module (SoM), with a NXP i.MX515 Arm® Cortex®-A8-based CPU running at 800 MHz. It features standard connectors and interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, UARTs, RS-485, CAN, and more brought out on the two reliable 100-pin TS-SOCKET connectors to the TS-8820 baseboard. The TS-8820-BOX baseboard connects these signals to transceivers and on-board FPGA, providing additional interfaces such as DAC/ADC, PWM, counters, etc.
The TS-8820-4800 comes preloaded with two different bootup environments: a Busybox initial ramdisk for a three second bootup time, and Debian Linux for a familiar, desktop-like environment using Xfce. GNU development tools, like gcc and gdb, are also installed, making on-board development easy. Cross compile toolchains for the C programming language are also available so you can develop using your favorite desktop IDE. As with most Linux distributions, other services like Apache Web Server, CGI-BIN, FTP, SSH, Telnet, Samba network services, etc. are available. Also included are user space utilities and applications to control DIO and more so that you can get your product to market in record time.
As with all of our products, the cross compile toolchains, source code, schematics, mechanical drawings, and manuals for the TS-8820-4800 are freely available for download in the resources tab.
