The TS-MULTI-104 is a PC/104 (standard format) peripheral board that works with all embeddedTS embedded PCs to provide wireless Internet connectivity. The TS-MULTI-104 supports the Multitech Universal Socket modules for an off-the-shelf, low-cost solution.
The TS-MULTI-104 board provides a standard socket for Multitech's Universal Socket. This allows projects to easily integrate cellular data services for an internet connection in remote locations. This module connects to the PC104 host computer using a very common 16C550 which makes it compatible with almost any PC/104 host.
The Multitech Universal Socket supports many different radios such as CDMA radios for varied providers. Call for more details on alternative radio options.
The Multitech modems use a standard AT command set which provides status, configuration, and data through the serial COM port. The standard serial 16C550 COM port interface appears as a selectable PC-compatible COM port for software compatibility and no special drivers are required. One can use any terminal emulator, such as minicom, to open and configure the serial port in use by this board with the appropriate /dev entry, enabling communication to the modem device plugged into the socket.
