TS-IRIDIUM is a PC/104 peripheral board that works with all embeddedTS embedded computers to provide connectivity through the global IRIDIUM satellite network.

IRIDIUM's global, low latency Short Burst Data (SBD) service is the ideal solution for machine-to-machine (M2M) communication to and from nearly anywhere on Earth. The service uses a very small, rugged modem with a standard interface and low power consumption to enable communication with everything from containers and trucks to planes or ships. Applications are limited only by imagination. The IRIDIUM satellite network is currently integrated into world-wide applications that serve industries such as oil and gas, rail, maritime, aeronautics, utilities, scientific research, and government/military.

The IRIDIUM SBD system is a satellite radio network primarily used for short data reporting or command and control applications (hence Short Burst Data). Network operations are largely obfuscated from the downstream developer such that communication with the modem requires very little software support.
