Industrial PC/104 Single Board Computer with 1 GHz Arm®-based CPU, Reliable eMMC SLC Flash, and High Capacity FPGA
Fountain Hills, AZ November 20, 2014 – Technologic Systems Inc., an embedded systems solutions company, has announced the general availability of their newest industrial grade single board computer, TS-7250-V2. The TS-7250-V2 is a general purpose PC/104 embedded system that can fulfill a wide variety of embedded system requirements with high performance, high reliability, low-cost components like an 800 MHz or 1 GHz Arm®-based CPU, 512 MB DDR3 RAM, up to 17k LUT FPGA*, 2 GB eMMC SLC flash, and flexible PC/104 connector with FPGA driven pins. Powered by Linux® Kernel 3.14, it boots to a terminal shell in 0.87 seconds and can further load the Debian® 7 "Wheezy" distribution. The TS-7250-V2 provides an upgrade path for customers using the TS-7250 or TS-7260 single board computers. The TS-7250-V2 features an on-board, programmable Lattice FPGA. The FPGA provides extra peripherals such as 75 GPIO lines, additional serial ports, additional CAN port, dual 4-bit mode high-speed SD Card sockets (full-size and micro SD Cards), and more.
All the PC/104 pins are connected straight to the FPGA, giving the TS-7250-V2 the flexibility to add external hardware and physical/transceiver layers. The default TS-7250-V2 FPGA load provides a standard PC/104 bus on the 104-pin connectors, maintaining compatibility with our other Arm-based SBCs and wide range of PC/104 peripheral boards. The FPGA on the TS-7250-V2 enables simple, inexpensive customization that requires no physical hardware modifications. Linux Kernel 3.14 and Debian 7 "Wheezy"
The TS-7250-V2 boots from the onboard eMMC SLC flash or microSD card to Linux Kernel 3.14 in 0.87 seconds to a BusyBox terminal shell. For full flexibility, the TS-7250-V2 can further load the Debian 7 "Wheezy" distribution, which offers a familiar software stack and packages and a GNU compiler collection for onboard software development. Technologic Systems also includes user space utilities for controlling various aspects of the board, like DIO, SPI, and UARTs.
