Component & Test Engineer

We are seeking a Component & Test Engineer to join our engineering team full-time in Fountain Hills, AZ. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience with electronic components, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and embedded system testing while working closely with experienced electrical, mechanical, and test engineers.

You will support engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain activities while developing strong fundamentals in component management and test engineering. Team members collaborate directly with design and software engineers, contributing across the lifecycle rather than being confined to isolated tasks.

What you'll do

Responsibilities would depend on qualifications, but may include the following:

Component & BOM Support

  • Assist in creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Help manage the company’s component data library and documentation
  • Process new component requests and ensure required component data is captured
  • Check for duplicate components in the library
  • Assist in identifying alternate components based on datasheets, cost, and availability
  • Help track component lifecycle status and potential obsolescence
  • Maintain compliance documentation (RoHS, REACH, etc.)
  • Follow company component naming and numbering conventions

Collaboration

  • Work with electrical and mechanical engineers, procurement, and production teams
  • Communicate with suppliers and component manufacturers as needed

Test Engineering

  • Assist in writing scripts for automated test systems
  • Help with the design of electrical test cards
  • Support the creation and execution of test plans for embedded systems

What we're looking for

Required

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Basic understanding of electronic components and their parameters
  • Some experience with scripting (Bash and/or Python), from coursework, labs, or internships
  • Strong attention to detail and organization
  • Willingness to learn new tools and processes
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work onsite in Fountain Hills, AZ
  • U.S. Citizen
  • Ability to pass a background check

Nice to have

  • Internship, co-op, or lab experience with electronics or testing
  • Exposure to embedded systems or automated testing environments

What you'll gain

  • Hands-on experience with real production hardware
  • Mentorship from experienced engineers
  • Exposure to the full product lifecycle—from design through manufacturing and test
  • Opportunities to grow into more advanced engineering responsibilities
